The never ending search for a better cup of coffee has begun.
Before stepping foot behind a coffee or pulling a shot of espresso, our owner Jeff was picking and milling coffee. The original idea was simply to learn the processes, but a deeper appreciation and the human connections that were formed became the backbone of Mad Catter Coffee Roasters.
Understanding is not enough. Technical skills needed to be learned. Day in and day out cafe operations teach the importance of quality, efficiency, and consistency.
Sharing passion and knowledge quickly became an integral part in our mission. Having the right tools are only half of the job. Knowing how to use them is just as important. That's why we place special focus on not only sharing the how, but also the why.
When we began roasting, it felt so natural. Like why haven't we been doing this the whole time? The answer is because there is no shortcut to greatness. You can't build a roof without first putting up walls.
The story does not end here. The hallway only gets longer and more doors appear. With every new fresh idea comes a new experiment and a new lesson learned. The exploration of flavor is a never ending journey and an adventure worth seeking. But that's what fuels the passion and keeps the flame alive. Well, that and all the caffeine. lol.
